Eastland Shopping Centre Chiller replacement

The Specialised team were engaged by QIC to undertake the project management services for their Eastland Chilled Water Plant upgrade.

The mechanical services upgrade was complex due to the following factors
– To ensure minimal disruption to the operational campus-style shopping centre, the replacement will be carried out while the facility is fully functioning and will be staged to ensure minimal downtime.
– Structural modifications and additions were required to facilitate the extraction of the existing cooling towers during a carefully planned cranage process extracting plant over a live site.
– Major electrical modifications were also required. Works works were staged to ensure existing equipment continues to be operational during cutovers.
– The design required the plant to be adaptable for future upgrades if required.

– To ensure a seamless implementation, the new chillers were pre-ordered to facilitate the project program.
